It is rigidly monitored with a strong support system in place.

This not only ensures compliance but also provides support and training needed to the industry.

The Halal Certification and Monitoring aims are as follows:

Provide a systematic, rigid certification and monitoring process for Halal distributors and cutting plants.

To provide correct training to all certified abattoirs in the industry. This extends to teaching accurate methods of slaughter and monitoring. To teach a better understanding of the Sharia (Islamic Law) in this subject.

Full, comprehensive support and monitoring of Halal butchers and suppliers in the U.K. inclusive of monitoring of visible aids for consumers i.e. Signs, posters, leaflets.

Awareness throughout the retail and public sector of what is permissible and what is not. What meats are currently sold and any unacceptable methods or behaviour practised by the suppliers or the Halal retail sector
